When you are trying to draw the ball you close your stance, but with a fade, you do the opposite so you open your stance. Based on the picture below you can see how the golfer’s back foot is now in front of his lead foot which is different than a draw. This allows the golfer to swing across the ball and to put down the spin that is required needed for the ball to start left and curve over to the right if you are actually a right handed golfer. Also, another thing in hitting a cut is to make sure your clubhead is a little open so that it will start on your desired line.
